What Is Healing?

I've been contemplating the idea of healing and disease for a while now and have become completely fascinated with life force energy. Did you know we have layers of energy bodies? The first is a compliment to our physical body, but made out of energy. Beyond that we have energy bodies which represent our mental, emotional and spiritual self. It is the energy being "off" in our energy bodies which manifests into disease in our physical body!! Here is what is so cool about that - if we can impact our energy body's well being we can shift and avoid disease in our physical body! This is how powerful we really are.

There are so many modalities becoming more and more widely accepted to impact our energy bodies - acupuncture and acupressure, Reiki, meditation...each impacting a different energy body layer. The most fascinating to me is our spiritual energy body. If we can heal the issues of our spirit, we can completely heal our physical self. Really. This is the top layer of our energy, connecting us to our higher self and ultimately to our maker, whomever you believe that to be.

Dealing with our spiritual self, however, may be a bit more of a challenge then we are willing to take on. This is comprised of love, expansion, and acceptance with little or no room for hatred, fear, grudges, judgement, jealousy...you get the idea. These later expressions must be faced, forgiven, and let go. Easier said then done for most of us. But knowing when we hold onto them, fueling their fires to keep them alive, that we are literally making ourselves ill will hopefully awaken many. I love the expression, "When you hold an ill feeling toward another it is like taking poison and expecting them to get sick."

The first step to consciously healing is being aware of what I have written above. Of course, there's TONS more, and I am sure to be delving into many aspects of them within these blog posts, but this is a good start. I've heard it said that not everything can be treated, but anything can be healed. It is not the "healer" which heals us, we heal ourselves, the healer merely shows us the path. Much to contemplate and think on...
